Does anyone know what to do when Quicken 2002 Basic gives you a box
entitled "An Error Has Occurred?" The contents of the box state: "An
error occurred during the last task. Please restart Quicken."

Then a box entitled "Program Error" appears and its contents state:
"QW.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Linda

I can only say that I have the same problem when I try to set up a new
category or sub-category. I'm using Quicken 2001 Deluxe with Windows 2000
Pro. I posted a question on December 15, 2001 under the heading Categories
and Error Message. You might try reading through the ideas posted in
response to my message.

I have this same problem in Quicken Deluxe 2002. I reported the bug to Quicken
but haven't heard back. I also payed for Quicken support and they walked me
through a COPY function to copy my file to a new file and then validate and
"super" validate it. The problem is still there. They tell me it's my data, my
problem. I say no way. Quicken is the only software that touched this data. I
say it's a Quicken problem.
The problem only occurs in the Planner tab and the Retirement Planner function.
Everything else is fine. Looks like a problem with the Planner code to me. I
wish they would have kept Quicken Financial Planner a separate product. They
merged it with Quicken and ruined it.
Good luck with your problem. Quicken will just blame it on a "bad file". A weak
excuse.
