So I just set up an account for my grandkiddies with the nysaves.org 529
plan that is operated by Vanguard. It's a different electronic backup
system that what Vanguard has for their usual investors. (had to supply
a new username, got new account numbers in a different format than other
Vanguard personal accounts, website is different, etc.)

As such, I've been told both my Vanguard Flagship service AND the
specific Vanguard NY 529 account team member I just spoke to (who seemed
very knowledgeable) that they do NOT support Quicken d/l of the 529 plan
system.

Anyone have the same issue, or (better yet) that this isn't true and
they really DO have the ability to do it?

Bummer if so....I do have the address of the folks to send a snail-mail
request off to (as if that would really help).

It's Vanguard, and Vanguard alone, that decides what account types are eligible for download.

If you've " been told both my Vanguard Flagship service AND the
specific Vanguard NY 529 account team member" that you can't download the 529 account ... I'd believe it.

"Trust but verify". I *almost* believe it, hoping (1% chance?) that
someone can tell me they're wrong!

BUT, BUT, BUT, the info HAS been verified ... by the 429 account team member (or the Flagship rep ... which ever you asked 2nd).

OR, are you a belt and suspenders and another belt kinda guy?

I was told by Vanguard and my accountant that monthly statements can be downloaded but NO 529 data can be automatically downloaded into Quicken

Whoever told you that NO 529 Plan can be downloaded is either ignorant, or lying, or covering their own ass because THEIR plan doesn't download (at the plan's choice). Here's an entry for a 529 plan from the FIDIR.TXT file for QW2017.

A few points since my last post.

to Danbrown:

1. Just because I've heard verbally from two people that nysaves.org
can't d/l into Q doesn't mean that it is gospel. I've seen too many
cases in this forum where 'experts' have been contradicted by facts and
other knowledgeable folks here.

2. Thanks for the reference to "https://www.collegeadvantage.com/". Of
course, this is from Ohio, doesn't help me explicitly now, but I will
use it in reference when I write to the NYSAVES.ORG folks that the
Vanguard rep gave me the US Mailing address to.

to others:

It turns out that on the NY plan, there IS information about aggregators
and a shadow account that can be set up within their two-party
authentication system so that folks like MINT (And some others that I
don't remember) STILL can get access. Well, that's funny...too bad
Quicken d/l doesn't work...but isn't there a screen scraping facility
that Q *could* add (the minimal type of Web Connect, Web Connect
Express, etc...maybe this is something that was done a LONG time ago by
Intuit and isn't even of interest anymore).

BUT, you weren't asking about Mint ... you were asking about Quicken.

One definition of insanity is doing/asking the same thing over and over and expecting the results/answers to change.

And, yet, you keep asking.

NY 529 doesn't download into Q. Their decision, not Q's. End of story.

Whoa! I only asked the original time, the rest was commentary. Mint
only came up since I had noticed that they do support aggregators after
my original post, so some sharing is possible through other ways.

Please don't start being a twit like some others here and insult others....

Still expecting the results to change ... my, my, my. I'm sorry about your insanity.
