And this morning USAA seems to be down. OSU reports an OL-301A error. Quicken
instructions for dealing with this are ineffective.

USAA is having problems, there are no "instructions" (from Quicken or USAA) that are going to prevent users from experiencing those problems.

It's unlikely in the extreme that there could have been some instructions previously created to deal specifically with this brand new problem But if you note the first paragraph of the OL-301 knowledge base article, it says, "The situation may ultimately require the financial institution to implement a solution."

USAA will get these problems solved in time (with Quicken's assistance, if that is needed); until they do, there's really nothing for users to do but to wait.

[I believe one aspect of USAA's current problem is that USAA has been repeatedly taking their servers down in attempts to fix the problem.]

That appears to be an understatement. Users on the Quicken board seem to be
reporting any number of issues with duplicate transactions, signs reversed on
transactions, and multiple different error codes. Hopefully USAA will get things
straightened out soon.

And it seems to be working again.

Those still having problems may want to check the following Quicken KB article, paying particular attention to the "Known problems" section.

Just finished OSU with USAA Bank and my senior bonus came down as a payment instead of a deposit. USAA website is still reporting technical difficulties.

Why are you posting this?

Anyone experiencing the problem will have the same experience you describe.

I see no useful information in your post.

I'm getting massive duplicate transactions, but only on one of my USAA accounts
(a credit card).

This would be compared to reposting problems from another site?

I was just trying to be helpful.

Letting people know they are not the only one experiencing a problem IS
being helpful.

Not everyone grew up being called "the little professor".

I fail to see how. It certainly won't help get the problem(s) solved, which was the point of my comment.

It's hard to imagine how anyone reading this discussion up to the point of Don Rist's post could have thought they were the only one experiencing the problem. I have confirmed to the original poster here that USAA is having Quicken problems; how many more than two do you need?

The Quicken Community is filled with literally hundreds of posts complaining about the USAA issues: if you need some sort of emotional support from other users saying "me too", you can go to the Quicken Community and get your fill.

People who are looking for help getting problems fixed, are not going to find that help in comments that make no attempt to provide that help. But users looking for that help will have to read all those unhelpful comments to find out that they're not helpful. Seems like a waste of time to me.

But you're safe: those unhelpful comments will remain, and you can turn to them whenever you feel the urge. I will continue to discourage them.

Letting people know the problem persists, after several days since the
last post, could prove helpful to some. Not to you, of course. But some.

So would those be the people who would rather come here and read through lots of "me too" posts without finding any solution (and probably not even realizing that there isn't just one problem: there are multiple different errors and not every user is experiencing the same errors) ... rather than just doing a download from USAA to get the most current and most accurate information possible for that individual?

You mean those people?

Quite possibly. All I know is it could be anybody but you. Now you are
adding to the non-answer posts. How does that make you feel? BYE!

For John Pollard,
I was trying to reply to the original poster, Arthur Canon Doyle. The title of this thread is "USAA Down" and the quoted text is from the opening post. I wanted to convey that the USAA website was indeed working but the Quicken downloads were still problematic.

To the extent that applied at all, it would have been apparent to any user attempting to download from USAA. Hard to understand why anyone would want to come to this newsgroup, search for discussions that might be about the USAA problems, then read all the posts in those discussions ... to discover what would have been obvious by just trying a download.

USAA was taking their servers down, then putting them back online, multiple times. It's not clear how any user would know when that process was complete. It will eventually stop when USAA has basically fixed all the underlying problems.

And as I noted in one of my recent posts in this discussion, there are multiple USAA problems and not all USAA users were/are experiencing all the USAA problems; making generic non-specific comments about USAA download problems even less helpful.
