2002 upgrade in XP; lost prey2k data

Greetings,

I installed a new Q2002 (deluxe) into a new Dell laptop running XP. I
copied my data file from Quicken 99 (in a different computer). I
RESTORE the file, all info was transferred except that there is NO
data on ANY account after Dec 31, 1999! Same happens if I OPEN the
backed up data file instead of restore
any suggestions?

do you mean you literally copied a single file? Your Quicken data
resides in several files - you need them all. The number of files and
their extensions are not necessarily the same for all versions of
Quicken; I have Q2001 so I can't say specifically what files you need,
but they all should have the same "name" (the name you open with in
Quicken) but with different extensions (that portion of the name
following the period).

On a whim, try looking at the beginning of your files. I had a problem with
my quicken 2002 reading anything from 2000 on as 1900, 1901. BTW, I didn't
find a soultion so I went back the the Q'98 that worked perfect. Keep in
mind that I'm not using XP and I only found that it happened in entries that
I downloaded from my bank.
