I have been unable to download stock quotes in Quicken 2000 since November
1st. All I get is an "Quote Server Error". Has Intuit done something to
shut this service off?

Bonjour,

So, somebody got the solution, some feedback from Quicken?
Does Quicken will mention something about it on its web site, or here in
this newsgroup?

I am running Quicken 2000, I bought it.
It seems to me, they want to flush all of those current old customers,
so we are force to buy Quicken 2003.

Quote downloads still work for me. I'm using Quicken Deluxe 2000 w/ XP home
edition.

Man, I'd really like to know what the differences are... I run Q2000 deluxe
as well (Cdn version) and quote updates stopped Nov 1st. I did a complete
re-install yesterday but quotes still don't work...

There is one thing I can think of that I've done out of the ordinary in the
last month or so. I edited a file in an attempt to get ING banking to work.
It was not successful. Then I deleted the file and quicken automatically
downloaded a new one for me. That did not make ING work either but perhaps
it had something to do with the quotes? I don't know for sure. This is the
path to the file I edited and then deleted: C:\Program
Files\QUICKENW\inet\common\localweb\banklist\fidir.txt

Good Luck...

unfortunately that didn't work... was worth a try anyway, thanks!

Anyone else with ideas?

As mentioned in another thread, Intuit has posted an "explanation" of this:
http://www.quicken.ca/sunset/20002XG.php

There is a workaround if you have any US securities you want quotes for. In
the security detailed view, do an Update - Get Historical Prices. However,
this will not work for Canadian securities for some unfathomable reason. At
least Quicken didn't stop me from downloading my bank statement -- yet!

I'm perfectly prepared to download an update to make this feature work, but
to be forced to buy an entirely new version? No way.

I tried Q 2002 a few months ago, and uninstalled it because it gave me
nothing new that I wanted, and eliminated a couple of features that I liked.
I suppose Intuit decided that since not enough people were upgrading, they'd
start chopping features out of the old product until they created a
compelling argument to convert. Innovating marketing!

Nice going, Intuit, get a few million people dependent on you and then screw
'em good.

Bonjour,

For those who have a few quotes to get, use this link.
Put this in your favorites, it will remember which one to get. Just
click Submit.

Enough to me...

Bien à vous, et merci pour la discussion.

I can't believe this. I search on the Intuit web site for an hour and don't
find anything on this. 2 minutes in a
newsgroup and I get the answer. And it didn't cost me 19.95 to get an
e-mailed support response. Unbelievable!
Even more unbelievable is that this company would expect it's customers to
update to a new version to retain support for certain on-line features.
This is my last version of Quicken.

Same thing for me; it is unacceptable.
