I just created an IIF file for ITEMS following the format of an exported
ITEMS file. Everything looks fine.
When I import it into QuickBooks, the program says "Your data has been
imported". But when I look at the list of ITEMS, the entries are not there.
(The HIDDEN field is set to N)
Any ideas on what's happening here?
TIA,
Grace
BTW. The file does not need the .iif extension but it must be a
comma-separated-value (CSV) text file. Use "Save As" from Excel to create
the file.

I'll double check that I'm saving it properly.

I agree with the previous response that the problem is most likely the
headers -- it is very tricky.
I would suggest that you create one item manually in QB; export the
inventory list; import it to Excel or whatever; then add items to the
list to be exported/imported into QB.

Thanks for all your help.

I met with a 'Certified Quickbooks Advisor' today and
he told me this is the way the item list imports and if I can
find out how to get these fields to load to show him!

Also, do I have to enter each item with a teamed TRS/SPL entry
or can I list all the TRS lines, then the SPL lines?
Thanks again for the help.
