My company uses Peachtree Complete Accounting (version 2002). I need
to figure out how to custom design a check form that can print three
consecutive checks to a page. I did design a check form that was only
able to print a check three times over on the same page. Peachtree
would then move on to the next check and print that one three times on
the next page, etc.

Any help or advice would be *greatly* appreciated.

Hi Eklipesky -

Do you need three checks per page, or each check to only be approx 3.67"
What happens when you only want to print one check? I'm assuming you're
using a dot matrix printer for these checks. If you just need a single
check to be approximately 1/3 of a page, you'll need to define a custom page
size to use. The steps to do this vary depending on which Operating System
you're using. Once you've defined your custom page size, you can open your
check form in design mode, click setup, click on properties then select your
custom page size and you should be good to go.

If you do want three checks to a page (although not sure why) - you'll need
to add a command to the form moving to the next line item record. You'll
then need to edit the command order so that the next line item command falls
after the end of the first check. You'll need to repeat this process (add
another command and edit the order) so that the command falls after the end
of the second check as well.

Hi Chad,

I've tried what you've suggested already. It doesn't work. It would
print the same check three times over on the same page. The second
and third checks on the page would say void in the dollar amounts.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sylvia

Hi Sylvia -

Did you add the command to move to next line item record AND edit the
command order? If you don't edit the command order, the move to next line
item command automatically is last in line - which means Peachtree doesn't
move to the next record until after the data in all of the other fields has
already been populated.

A little more information might be helpful. Just so I understand your
situation better, can I ask why you are wanting three checks on a single
page - what is it that you're trying to accomplish. If you have this form
set up to have three checks on a page, but only have one check to print -
you're going to end up printing a whole page. May I ask what type of check
we're working with here? (payroll, A/P, etc.) If A/P - how many invoices
are being paid with this check? It is possible that the subsequent void
checks are a result of the number of invoices being paid, not with the check
design itself.

Yes. I did.

This is what my boss wants to save paper work. Just trying to make
him happy.

A/P. Nope, I did those things correctly. I tried to pay three
checks. Peachtree would print each check three times to a page. The
second
and third check on the page would say void in the amounts. Three
pages were printed out.

Sounds like you have Read Next Item Record commands in your report. You
need to end each check with a Read Next File Record command.

Diane -

My news server (which sux) shows no reply to your message. Is this
true? The thread keeps going as if the OP never received your message.
Possibly because of the attachment? Hmmm, a mystery.

I've tried *read next file record* command also AND edited the command
order. The result was even worse. Peachtree would send an infinite
number of pages to the printer to print. *Next line record command*
got better results. Although you would think it should be correct to
use *next file record* command.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Sylvia -

Would you mind emailing me your form file so I can take a look at it?
