Good read. I wonder who will be buying their chips . . . though.

I hear 3dfx chips make great toilet mints.
Maybe 2000 flushes will be buying 3dfx.
We could also mount a 3dfx chip on a stick
and make a handy back or ass scratcher. I'm sure
that there are many uses for 3dfx chips, except for the
purpose of video.

Yeah, that's it.

dont count them out though. They are still going to develope them, just not
manufacture the boards in its entirity. We want them to stick around
anywayz for the compitition. Who wants to pay $800 for ultra gf2! When the
NV20 is out it will have no compitition and may cost more. If others sign
on to make cards based on 3dfx chips like nVidia does, there will be even
more compitition and hopefully better products from both companies. We dont
want nVidia to become another microsloth now do we? LoL.

They're not quiting ala S3, but "evolving" this meaning devolving back to
what they were before they started manuraturing their own cards. A good
move, I don't know why they started to do this in the first place. I guess
they decided that they were on top of the industire and could expand into
the card manurfacturing biz as well. Big mistake, it gave them alot more
problems to sort out, turning them into a lumbering bohemoth.
