can quake i & ii run on windows 98?

i have the games and i can't run them.
i am using win 98,
is this an os problem?

Yes they both will run on 98. I have bothe plus Arena and they will all
work on 98.
May be a problem with your Video or Sound card. Please Post your specs of
your system:
CPU:
Mother Board
Sound card
Video Card
Ram Size

Q2 should run without problems. Worth pointing out that you need
WinQuake to run Q1 on 9x.

You don't need Win Quake to run GLQuake on Win9X but you do need to
rename the file opengl32.dll in the Quake folder so that it will use
the Nvidia opengl driver.

I've got GL Quake to run OK on my GF2 GTS but it's very dark.
How can I fix this (brightness is full up)
