For $100-$150 range : GeForce Ti4200 64mb (Get 128mb if its only a few
bucks more if you want, but they generally offer no performance
increase, may run a tad slower).

$175~200 range : ATI 9500PRO (not the NON PRO versions)

$275~300 range : ATi 9700PRO (note, NON PRO versions about $50 less)

Remember when real men used Real computers!?
When 512K of video RAM was a lot!

Death to Palladium & WPA!!

Hi again Mark,

Since 200 pounds = about $300 (correct me if I am wrong), the best
value for money card available right now is the ATI Radeon 9700 pro
(if u check crucial.com's website you'll find the card for about 215
pounds).

If your 200 pound budget can't stretch then you could opt for the
Radeon 9500 pro cards or the soon to be released 9600 pros...

If you are partial to nvidia cards (since u've posted in an nvidia
newsgroup) you could opt for a Geforce FX 5800 but its supposed to be
easily trounced by the ATI cards...

BTW how long are you intending to keep the card and do you play a lot
of FPS and other PC games? Do you overclock cpu and mobo or video
cards?

Your choice of a suitable card would vary accordingly.

I read some reviews... while the 9500Pro is faster than the 4200 &
fx5600... it is a bit slower than the Ti4600/4800(non SE version) -
but the TI4600 tends to cost a lot more.

With your current Mobo, the faster DDR will not make any difference...
er... isn't DDR2100 = 266mhz? So you're using DDR1600 (200mhz) and
over clocking?

If you want more system performance, get an NFORCE2 board and stick in
2 sticks of 256 DDR 2700 (333mhz) and have the option of poping in an
AMD Barton 3000 :)
