Does routing HDMI audio via graphics card, slow down graphics card ? Split graphics/audio via 2 HDMI ports ?

Some computer motherboards do not have HDMI output port.

HDMI output port is necessary to connect computer to Denon Receiver for top audio.

If computer/motherboard does not have HDMI output port, then HDMI output port of graphics card could be used to contact to Denon Receiver.

Some questions though:

Does this slow down the graphics card ?

Also I assume that motherboard with HDMI outport can be used to connect to Denon Receiver while Graphics Card can be used to connect to monitor ?
(Even if two HDMI ports present, two can be used ? one for audio and one for graphics ?)

Can HDMI and Display port of motherboard be used at same time with just Ryzen 7000 integrated RNA2 graphics chip ? So without graphics card ?

Bye,
Skybuck.

No.

To address the splitting hypothesis, regardless of the channel of HDMI, the drivers are still engineered to boil from the same stew of the GPU so to speak. Separated HDMI outputs do not constitute separated audio outputs to the drivers which somehow taxes the GPU less (at least the official ones) nVidia drivers still think they can do sound over DisplayPort according to Windows

This isn't the days of yore where it made sense to offset CPU cycles to a discreet sound card as to avoid doing so with onboard motherboard whereas your taxing the northbridge (or maybe it was the southbridge, can't remember)

GPUs even within the last 15 years have no issue running concurrent sound streaming along video output even at the slightest. I've been doing it since my GTX 790, then a 1080 GTX, and now a 3080 TI running multiple displays (two 1080p screens and one ultra wide 1440p screen) across all of them. Not a peep in performance (I get 150 FPS in PUBG on Ultra settings routing its sound to my headphones while the HDMI sound goes to the TV for the missus and her streaming television) The drivers are pretty snappy these days and audio delivery really isn't taxing anymore

If there are any performance drawbacks I can assure you it is negligible in any sort of practical measure

I realized I didn't directly address your question with this, and the answer is usually always as is- depends on your motherboard. I've work with motherboards who turn off the onboard graphics capability if there is a discreet card installed with no way to turn it on, and some that let you run onboard graphics alongside a discreet card.

At that point it's sort of a fool's experiment to, as I understand, you're running onboard GPU from the motherboard but using a discreet video card just for audio?

But yes you will most certainly be able to use the display port and HDMI port on the mobo at the same time, audio using the HDMI port obviously. At least that works for most basic HD TVs anymore. I find that receivers such as the brand you named which I'm not familiar with, tend to be more finnicky on what they support coming from a desktop PC
