Please let me know what happened to my MX- not that I care?

Last night I got my GF2 MX400 64Mb TV out.

The manufacturer specs : Core ferq. 200Mhz and memory freq. 166Mhz. That is
what is suppose to be - right? I installed Nvidia Drivers v12.41 and NVMax.
Windows detected my card as a MX400.

When I opened NVMax under overclocking (but overclocking tick is not ticked)
it shows the Core freq. is 200Mhz and the memory freq. is 334Mhz instead of
the 166Mhz it has to show. Does this mean it is DDR Ram.

I run 3dMark 2001 win 1024x768x32 AA Hardware TnL and got a score of
4100!!!! With my old TNT2 Pro I got 900.

My System:

TBird 1.2GHz (Rev B) OC to 1.3GHz
256Mb PC133 CL2 RAM
GF2 MX400 64Mb
13Gb WDD HDD
LG DVD
Sony CD-RW
SB Live

It is a HIS (Hightech Information Systems) Card

GForce 2MX and a score of 4100 in 3DMark 2001 is not possable. No way
can't happen and I don't care what memory is on it. I think maybe you ran
3dMark 2000 instead which is about in the right neighbourhood though a
little on the low side. My old 3d prophet 2mx would manage about 4400 +/- 50
in 2000 and only 2030 in 2001.My new Radeon 64DDR hits about 4500 in 2000
and 2400 in 2001. Bench marks don't really mean a whole lot, scores are
about the same but the Radeon looks so much nicer in UT and the frame rates
are excellent running D3D getting about 70 to 80 fps depending on the map
with all details on high at 1024x768. Now don't get me wrong I love my mx
and am still using it in my other machine and I have no problem with any
nvidia product but the Radeon had more of what I was looking for at a decent
price and I could not justify spending $600+ Can. on a GForce 3, which by
the way is the only card that will hit the numbers you are quoting in 3DMark
2001.

The score is true. I did NOT Fake it. That is the score I get. I want to
know what if modified not this card.

The card has a CPU fan and has memory on both sides like the Voodoo2 cards
had.

I went home and benchmark again. In got a exact score of 4078 on 3dMark2001
not 2000. I am not fooling around.

Hmm. Usually with that cpu, you'd need at least a GF2 Ultra, possibly
even an overclocked Ultra, to get over 4000. You must have gotten a very
healthy card indeed ;-). Could you possibly submit your result to the
Madonion site, publish it and supply us a url? You may have gotten a
better card than you paid for, but the clock and memory speeds suggests
a regular GF2 GTS, and it won't come even close to 4000 unless it's
heavily overclocked. Come on, give us the url.

Is that at default settings?

Where did you buy it from, and how much for? Read us a whole
markings on the mem chips please.

My computer is not connected to the internet, but here is screen shots - the
best I can do.

goto www.gcs.co.za/fs/mx give me 30min after this post to make the site.

Yes that is the default settings? I got it fro Bethesda Computers South
Africa. I can't give you the markings at this moment, but it has 6 memory
chips on each side of the board.

can easily be faked

I have one computer at home and a laptop at work.

I don't have to prove anything -so i don't have to fake it.

Don't belief me then...

The GeForce 2 MX 400 is a DDR chipset. Your memory should be DDR so that's
fine. If you use the Nvidia overclocking tab then it'll show it at its SDR
rate (better double check this but from what I remember it is). That's a
very high score you've got! I'd put it down to your memory and CPU.

I know I am very lucky, but nobody awnsers my question. Does this card
actually have DDR Ram (what ever happened to it) and how did it get the
memory on.

Please Reply

I dont doubt you, but I would really like to see the card.

Is it possible to get a pic of it? Have you got a scanner or
a digital camera?

Getting the readings of the code and brand of the chips, it would
be easy to determine if DDR or SDR. What is misterious is that
DDR on an MX performs no better than SDR since chip architecture
limits it as such.

Your web page says nothing, when 3dmark2001 returns your final score click
on SHOW DETAILS and take a pic of what it says about your graphics card,
system info, plus what resolution and color depth the test was run at and
with what features.

So far you've told us nothing except CRAP.

sorry no camera, but you can find the card at
http://www.hightech.com.hk/html/NV11.htm The difference is that my card has
8 memory chips on each side

Well I (we) would have to have a sixth sense to figure that out,
wouldn't I (we)? If your screen shots are genuine, then yes you have DDR
ram on the card. At least I don't know of any 3 ns sdram chips. Still at
that speed I find it odd that you get 4000+ 3dmarks(2001) at default
resolution. For reference a GF2 Ultra card overclocked to 270/500 would
score around 4300 in your system, based on my experience.

Figure out what it says on the ram chips, like somebody elsse suggested.
Then we'll all know for sure.

It愀 a bug in nvidias driver. Memory freq. is 166Mhz. I just can愒 find the
link to the site where I read it.

Um, NO, the Geforce 2MX-400 _should_ have 166Mhz 128Bit SDR ram
