5.5 Drivers: Better than the old ones

on a celeron 400 with G400 32MB OEM? with 5.41 drivers HL freezes after
about 5 mins, and with 5.3 it takes around 10-20 minutes. All I want to know
is if 5.5 drivers fix this. thanks in advance.

I cured mine by disabling the 32Bit ZBuffer. I run HL in OpenGL, and
have no problems with at all. In D3D, I cant go out in the menu and back in
the game, without it crashing. In OpenGl I can do it, as often as I like :)
I now the use the 5.5010 Beta driver with now propblems. That version even
improved my fps in Rally championship with about 5fps.

G400 and Win9x consider downloading my driver pack @ www.paraknowya.de
because it's smaller than Matrox' driver pack! 2.6 vs 4.6MB!

well no, the size is not the only difference, I'm trying to deliver some
spicy stuff too which will make d/ling the pack more interesting like a
Glide wrapper similar to CL's Unified driver, an FAQ and Reg patches + more
(in newer releases). Besides the driver is not exactly the same compared to
MAtrox' latest because I noticed that Matrox' latest (included in 5.50.010)
ICD (g400icd.dll) does not work good for me, it's not stable at all (K7
system) so I put together a driver set of the latest working/ stable drivers
which currently consists of the 5.41 icd and the 5.50.010 2D, 3D drivers.
And as you mentioned, due to being G400 only the size of the pack is much
smaller @ the moment. Hmmmm... that's about it for now, modifications and
more might come with a new release, I'll keep you posted! =) And once, I get
some better contact @ Matrox and more feedback from G400 owners, the G400
FAQ and other tweak info will enrich the driver pack A LOT!
