Just got my second monitor for the DH and when using the desktop its great.
Problem I've got is that if I leave the DH enabled and play Unreal Tor the
frame rate in UT is halved for some reason. It doesn't happen with Quake II.
So does this mean that every time that i want to play UT I have to
completely disable DH which involves a reboot? Coz just disabling the
monitor in the settings picture doesn't seem to work.

Please help!!

When using Dual Head (not dual head clone) the memory of the card is halved,
so if youv'e got a 32 meg g400 you will be have 2 16megs. and 8 megs if you
have the g400 16 dualhead.

Anyway this means playing your games with dualhead enabled inevitably
effects the performance of the game and with newer games like UT, it will
effect them dramatcially.

So yep, for best perfomace when playing a game, your going to have to
disable the dual head feature.

There is not need to alter the DH settings.
Just disable the monitor in the standard windows multi-monitor options
(untick the box labeled "Extend windows desktop to this monitor"), theres
no need to change any options on the Dual Head Tab leave it at DualHead
Multi-Display.

A good idea is to save 2 presets 1 with both monitors and 1 with both
enabled, assign a key combination to both and you can flick between them
with the press of a few keys.
