I am having a problem with the Parhelia v0.21 drivers under Red Hat Linux
8.0 (v2.4.18-24.8.0 kernel). I was able to install the drivers and X is
working OK. However, I am having problems with the virtual text consoles
(Ctrl+Alt+F[1-6]). When I switch to a text console, the screen goes blank
and my monitor complains that 27MHz/62Hz is out of range. The minimum for
my monitor is 30MHz/50Hz. Any idea on how to bump up the hsync to be
above 30MHz?
Thanks,
Steven

I asked this question in the Matrox Linux forum. I've got XFree86 to load
the mtx module and it works OK. Ben said that I need to get the kernel to
load the mtx module. I tried adding "video=mtx:vesa:7" to lilo.conf but
it doesn't seem to have an affect.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
If I use the mtxdrivers XF86Config.single as my templete, I get the text
consoles with no problem. I have been using XF86Config.dual as my
templete so I can use both monitors. It is when doing dualhead that I
have the h-syunc too low problem for text consoles.
