Now I am aware that my card may be different to the card that others are
using so I have to ask this question. Has ANYONE who has given this advice
actualy tried it and had success? I have tried them and they do not work on
my system. The Macrovision signal is still there.
Is there another option (apart from an external Macrovision buster box which
I already have but would like to do away with)?. Where is this signal
generated? Is it on the card itself (I now suspect it is because the
software hacks didn't work)?. If so does anyone know how to hack the card
itself?

I've tried the 1.0.28 with the Matrox DVD Player. It worked fine. But
Macrovision was still there. I've tried many things (the WinDVD patch and so
on) and Macrovision won't leave the NTSC signal. I've never had a problem
with Macrovision and PAL though, not even with the original Cinemaster engine
that came with the card.
I guess some modification to the PowerDesk software is needed too, in order
to get rid of NTSC Macrovision.

Hi there,
Ditto here with G400 Max in the UK, tried all the above with the same
results - but with PAL.
Any ideas why you don't have any problems with PAL?
Cheers, Julian.
I tried the patches and macro is still present.....
What patch did you use and what drivers are you using??????

So, here I am 3 weeks down the line and considering selling the
card for any decent offer, its really <expletive deleted> me
off, I doubt I will ever touch another matrox product, the
marvel is not that damn good after all, a damn jack of all
trades with no hope for any real use.

If you start a movie playing and then pause it.
get into display properties.
got to the Monitor settings tab.
click adjust settings button (top button)
wait until the screen changes and when offered choices, Hit
cancel 3 times.
go play the movie and the macrovision is gone.
worked everytime since then.
I was ready to sell my card when I discovered this cheap (free)
workaround that required no cracks or hacks.
