i just noticed that when i run MMC 7.5 the CPU usage sits around 50-60%
constantly..
also.. i looked at the Processes in the Task Manager.. and when i look at
the MMC prog runnig.. its at 0%
so why is the CPU showing 60% usage when Processes doesnt ?

oh and also.. Windows reports the card to be 1x/2x AGP only.. which again is
weird..
or is this 8500dv really only 2X agp ?

my mobo is a MSI 266a Pro2-RU with XP1700 CPU
win2k, 512mb ram
Sblive 5.1
Intel pro/100 NIC

if anyone has any ideas plz let me know

When you run the MMC 7.5 Initialization Wizard, there's an option for
setting it for High or Low CPU usage. I forget offhand which it defaults to,
but you can set it to your choice.
From all I've read about the card, it should definitely be AGP 1,2, and 4x
capable.

Demand enabled.. which i dont.. so its useless in my case..

I don't know for sure if it's possible yet, but I do know that ATi has
licensed 3rd parties to make cards, too. I just wonder if you got one of
these third party cards??
Personally, I'm going to be sticking with 'made by ATi' all the way.

Mine says "AGP4X/2X BUS"

Exact wording from outside of box.
