I have a friend with an IBM compatible running XP. He has an HP 4280 USB
printer connected to it. When he plugs in a USB flashdrive it appears under
My Computer as drive E: and can be accessed OK without the printer turned
on.
When the printer is turned on Drive E: still appears and Drive F: is shown
as well, (I do not have a clue to what it refers) but the flashdrive can't
be accessed. It comes up with unrecognised device error. Turning the
printer off makes everything work as it should.
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the printer under Control Panel but
the problem is still there.
Any help would be appreciated.
Different USB ports have been tried with no success.
