Connection to Verizon

Hello All!

I have been trying to connect an Asus 1005 to my router (Actiontec
MI1424WR). I set up the wireless network on the router and my Asus
detects a strong signal but I cannot connect for "security restrictions"
even when I give the Network key and also when I used a USB memory stick
made in the Windows set up. I am using Windows XP both on the laptop and
the base computer.

I'm doing something wrong or have omitted a step but I can't figure out
what. I was able to connect to the net using what appears to be a
neighbor's insecure network so electrically things seem OK.
