If the computer is not currently running, you will have trouble getting
into the BIOS to set

"PS/2 Keyboard Power On" [Enabled]

That must be set first, for the following to work. If the BIOS is not
set that way, your power button is broken, then you won't be able to do
this.

1) Open your user manual, to the picture of the motherboard.

2) Look in the upper left hand corner, just above the ATX 2x2 square power connector.

3) There is a three pin header "PS2_USB_PWR1".

4) Now, go to section 2.8 of the manual, entitled "Jumpers Setup"

Move the PS2_USB_PWR1 jumper to pins 2-3, which is the +5VSB setting.

The purpose of that, is so that the keyboard has a source of power
to use, to wake the computer. If the keyboard has any LEDs on it,
they may remain lit all the time.

Note: Only change that jumper, with all power turned off on the computer.
I unplug a computer, to be absolutely sure all power is off.

That jumper will be difficult to reach, so this will not be easy to do.
It might even require removing some components from the computer, to
gain access to the jumper.

With regard to your broken Power On button, you have some options -

1) In an emergency, you can swap the "Reset" cable for the "Power" cable
and vice versa. Then, you can use the "Reset" button to perform the
power-on function. The "Reset" and "Power" buttons are both momentary
contact, normally open switches. You can swap the cables on the PANEL1
header, and then use the "Reset" button as your Power button.

PWR

X X X X X Panel_1 header
\ /
RST

2) You don't need the power button. For example, if the power button really
is badly broken, you can cut the power button off the end of the cable,
then touch the two wire ends of the cable together. The "Power" button is
a momentary contact switch. All you need to do, is touch the two ends of the
wire together for a fraction of a second, for the PC to start. And the PC
will stay on after that. You can also stick a screwdriver tip, between the
two PWR pins on the PANEL1 header, but that is only safe if you can clearly
see and reach the pins. At that is needed, is to momentarily make the two
PWR pins to contact each other.

So you don't really need the Power button. There are other alternatives.

You can even buy another switch, like this one.
