I seem not to be able to delete Tyan's Win95 busmastering driver. I follow
Tyan's instructions by deleting both *.inf files and the *.mpd file. It also
says to delete the relevant OEM#.inf file, but search as I might I cannot find
one associated with the Tyan driver. No matter what I do the system keeps
"finding" the Tyan driver again.

Has anyone successfully deleted the Tyan driver?

Make sure that you delete these files if found in the Windows\ INF\ Other
directory as well as in Windows\ INF. The "Other" directory only exists
on 950B and Win98 systems. You'll probably see mangled names for these
files in the Other directory, but it's usually easy to figure out which
are the Tyan files. You can always look at them with Notepad or EDIT to
verify you've found the right one.

The other way to look for references to these drivers is to use Explorer's
Tools/Find function to look for text like "Tyan" or "bus master" in all
the INF or MPD files in the INF directory. If you find one, you can
rename that INF or MPD with a different extension temporarily, then reboot
and install the drivers you want, and finally go back and restore the
original file names.

If you have OSR2, look in \windows\inf\other for the tyan inf file.
Also, be sure you remove the mpd file, remove the device from device
manager, and be sure you didn't put a copy of the inf file in
/windows/inf by accident.

Best Regards,

Joe
