computer is:
-Always crashing when I start to type a URL.
-Crashing intermittently when navigating through windows
-Everything runs fine in 'Safe Mode with networking'
-512MB RAM is brand new and high quality, as that is what I thought the
problem was before, so I replaced it
-Windows XP is freshly formatted and installed with all updates performed.
-When it crashes the video dies and needs to be hard rebooted. No windows
BSOD or errors. Just black screen.
-Everything looks in order in the Device manager. No yellow ? or red !.
-The BIOS has been reflashed to the most recent version (fv24stvj)
-All drivers and windows update are updated.
-----------
Now errors are occurring in the 'Application' portion of event viewer such
as:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine
CoCreateInstance. hr= 0x80040206
and
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal
processing. HRESULT was 8007043C from line 44 of
d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp
------------
I'm most confused as to why everything runs fine in Safe Mode, but not
normally.
Please help!
