does anyboby have a copy of the installation cd for the QDI Advance
5/133 motherboard?
I can't find the file on the QDI site and the online forum doesn't
work.
Tnx!

You can save the image from this link, including question mark on the end.

There is an "Advance 5/133" BIOS here. Note - archived data files, such
as the ZIP shown here, are all damaged by the archive.org archiver.
The last byte is missing (byte value 0x00 hex). If you use a utility
like PKZip, it will "fix" the "damaged" archive. 7-ZIP wouldn't touch
the file here, so I had to use my old copy of PKZip. Inside the repaired
ZIP file, I find "A5a_v16.bin" (256KB) and "README.TXT".

That BIOS mentions a roughly 34GB maximum disk size. You can use a
larger IDE drive if you want - if the BIOS gets jammed up by finding
an oversized drive, you can use the "clip" jumper on the back of the
drive. The "clip" jumper may not be documented, and you may have
to go to the hard drive manufacturer web site, to find documentation
of all jumper options. For some reason, they don't always put them
all on the drive label.
For motherboard drivers, I'd go to Viaarena.com and get the drivers there.
The chipset driver would either be labeled as "4in1" or
Hyperion. The Viaarena web page may describe which driver is
appropriate for the vintage of motherboard you've got.
The manual page is here. I tried the "Advance-5.zip" file and
it has three PDF sections inside (A5-1, A5-2, A5-3). The jumper
diagram, roughly matches the outline of the board depicted
on the Mobot (first link).

If you want to try to get the temperature sensor(s) working,
try Speedfan from almico.com .
If you have any more questions, post back to alt.comp.hardware.
The QDI documentation looks a bit on the rough side.
