Thanks to Jeff and others that helped out last week with my proposed
upgrade. I now have a GA-6BA running a 1GHz Celeron (Only been running
for a few minutes so far).

For others who might be interested it is:

GA-6BA rev 3.0
F1g BIOS
300W ATX PSU
GA-GR7+ socket 370 to slot 1 converter
Retail Celeron 1Ghz Coppermine SL5XQ 128/100/1.75v

Only two funnies:

On POST the system reports processor speed at 962Mhz (Sandra confirms
it's actually at 1Ghz). Reports 1.75V ok.

The cpu/fan bleeper initially went off for a minute or two. Gone off
now. Fan seems to be spinning ok, and heatsink was not yet hot at the
time. SIV reports fans speed at about 3K RPM, when my old cooler
master fan was 5.5K RPM. Guess this is ok?

Havn't stress-tested yet.

Peter.

I have a 1.1Ghz Celeron on a Rev2.9 GABA since 3 Months running 24/7
Gaming, Videocoding, Seti all run with no problems.
Bios also shows wrong Speed at Statup but how cares.
