I have a Gigabyte 6BA motherboard, revision 2.4. I have been
successful in setting this up with a Celeron 900 mhz processor, and I
though others might be interested in my sucess. Yes, the motherboard
is a revision 2.4, I'm sure of it. The BIOS is the beta F1G from the
Gigabyte web site. I used a retail Intel Celeron 900 mhz cpu, which
is supposed to run at 1.75 volts default. I used an Epox EP-S1C
slocket adapter, which has voltage settings. When the slocket was set
to "default voltage", the motherboard came up at 2.0 volts (according
to the BIOS). I changed the jumpers on the slocket to ask for 1.8
volts, and according to the BIOS, 1.8 volts is what I have. This is a
very minimal increase over the default 1.75 volts (.05 volts), and I
expect no problems from the voltage. The BIOS screen reports a
Celeron at 878 mhz, mycpu.exe reports 898.9 mhz, no problem. I am
also using an Inclose ATA-66 IDE controller (CMD chipset) with no
problems.

The only problem that I have seen so far is that Windows XP freezes
when I tell it to shut down. "Restart" works OK, so I am telling him
Restart, and then powering off when the BIOS screen appears.

The Celeron 900 is going for $58 or $59 these days, and makes a very
nice upgrade for you 6BA. I have no idea where to get the slocket, I
had this one lying around.
