On a side note, checking Enermax psus of up to 431 watts shows that they
don't supply enough +5v under load above 1gig on either of my K7S5As, and
they are AMD approved for well beyond that. What does that prove? Two
things. First, just because it's AMD approved doesn't mean squat. Second,
it isn't just the PSU that can be at fault here. Some motherboards have
their voltage regulators set differently and when used in conjunction with
certain psus will not provide enough current on the +5volt rail through the
board even though the psu does put out enough voltage on that rail. As
proof, those same Enermax psus that provided 4.85volts at 1GHz on K7S5As
provided 4.95 to 5.05 volts on an Asus A7V133 at 1.4GHz. Also, when used to
power an Epox MVP3G2 with an AMD K6-2/400 or a Pentium 100MHz they only
provided 4.85volts, so it isn't just the K7S5As that have this problem, but
several other boards as well, especially Epox boards.

The 2 Ver 2 motherboards would not run a processor faster than a 1.2 ghz @
133/133 also.....had the cold boot problem and lost the CMOS setting.....i
updated the bios to the bios that was modified at www.ocworkbench.com
the bios is based on the PC Chip 830LMR motherboard....since that
update.....both motherboard have worked perfect. One of them is now running
a 1.4 ghz athlon at 133/133 FSB.....then other is being used by the kids
with a 950 Athlon.... both are using generic powersupplies..........
