I just read at tomshardware that the p3v4x runs slower on CL3 ram than
CL2? It this really true? I just ordered a Kingston 128mb 133 cl3
stick, and Im getting a little worried? Should I try to find some CL2
ram instead?

Thanks,
Bill

Almost all Mobos will run a tiny bit slower on CAS 3 over CAS 2, but the
point is 99.9 % of folks can not tell the minute difference in performance
in anything other than a benchmark, and even there it takes a specific
benchmark or two to show a 5% difference. If you're buying new RAM and you
have the extra bucks for CAS 2, then go for it but it's almost impossible to
justify the cost of new RAM simply for a couple percent system improvement.

Your mileage may vary...

$183 for CAS3/CL3 256MB stick....

$246 for CAS2/CL2 256MB stick....

if you have the $$ go for CAS2/CL2.... or if you KNOW you'll be doing
150/152Mhz FSB speeds, then you'll want CAS2/CL2 for sure (since you'll
be able to set it at CAS3/CL3 timing in BIOS if problems arise at
highest FSB speeds).

I always use CAS2 since it is notably higher quality SDRAM, but I have a
small company here that I support, so I dont want any trouble w/ "slow"
chips..... arent tax-writeoffs just great!?!???!?!?
