Hi, I'm currently shopping for a new system and have a few question
for you experts.

Is the p2b support celeron 400mhz??

If not, I'll buy a 350 PII wich comes w/o fan and a heatsink.. I know
that those motherboard can tell the RPM of the fan. So what
fan/heatsink combo do you recommend??

Can these motherboard tells the cpu temperature?

Thanks!

I don't know about Celeron 400 for the P2B.....I run a PII 333 on mine and
it runs great. As far as heatsink/combo.....I just ran with a dual
fan/heatsink.....got it for about 10 bucks and I bought an additional case
fan which was about 7 dollars. There is a CPU temp sensor on the P2B but
you have to provide your own sensor to hook up to the MB. One can be
easily built using a thermistor and some extra wire and a 2 head pin. Hope
this helps

peace!

The Celeron 400MHz is a PPGA CPU PPGA means plastic pin grid array, which
is a new type of socket. Celeron will no longer be a slot 1 type CPU.
Intel has changed back to a socked Celeron, not socket 7 or 8, but a new
socket, ppga 380.

So no, Celeron 400's wont' work on a p2b.

The new Celerons come in a slot 1 version also; see www.necx.com/ ; they
sell them, but some of the versions may not be available yet.
