Everything fine with Elsa Gladiac MX, except suspend to ram from full screen
mode.
I'm buying a Leadtec GeForce2 MX card and want to know how you folks have
ensured you're at AGP 4x and where you found the appropriate drive strength
settings for your devices? Has someone developed a table for the A7V and
the Drive Strength for the various video cards or is it a test and see
process still?
Does anyone have the link to the site that had the original thread about the
Drive Strength and AGP 4x with the A7V?
Is this all just crap since they came out with the 1005 series BIOS (meaning
I don't have to worry about Drive Strength any more)?
Thanks for the help/info,
Geoff

i think you should not worry or care about the Drive Strength settings with
your A7V; i'd leave them set to auto and let the system handle this.
The only thing you should care for is that you have the latest BIOS version
installed on your A7V (1005B) that lets you run your system at maximum
performance settings without risking crashed or instabilities (for most of
the ppl here). I'm running a Geforce DDR (Creative Labs Annihilator Pro) at
maximum AGP settings (AGP4x, fast writes and sideband adressing enabled)
with no problems at all.
Once you installed the new AGP card and flashed your bios to 1005x, set the
System Performance setting to "optimal" in BIOS (that allows you to run your
system at APG4x among others) and enable fast writes in BIOS.
I think there should also be some tiny utilities that let you check and/or
set the AGP settings. One i'm using for Win98 is Creative Labs' AGP Wizard,
but there should also be a program for nvidia Geforce cards in general.
Check www.geforcefaq.com to find out more about this.
You may find the older threads about this subject by doing a search on
www.deja.com in this NG.
I hope i was helpful.
regards
Alex
