I think this test is kinda hokey..
I keep getting over 70 on a k6-2 450

It's a pc that came into the shop with serious performance problems.
Havn't had time to look into the problem yet, but there is no way in
hell.... well whatever..

My Celeron 366@550 is 43.1 running on a Asus P2B. I have a
P2 350@466 that has a score of 37.1 but has a per
interation time in Prime 95 of 0.244 sec. While the
fastest the 366@550 can do is 0.267 sec.

It makes me wonder how realistic some of these benchmarks
really are

I like Cpumk99 for checking ram and L2 cache settings
Changing my 450 from L2=7 to L2=6 drops the score to
47.x Runin my ram at 3-3-3 instead of 2-3-3 drops the
score to 46.x

C466@600 on Abit BP6..well have two of them, but this test seems to use only
one.
Well then it propably doesn't mind me doing other stuff while testing..

And running on W2k RC2..

44.1 (With CPUIdle Pro)
43.6 (without)

Anyone noticed this kind behaviour? I have done statistically good testing (4
test runs
on both settings ;)

so $CPU/CPUmark99 something close to.. (trying to remember what they costed
and what is right excange ratio to $..)

well something around 2.9 i believe.. :(

Strange. My unoverclocked K6-III 400 gets a CPUMark of 43.5.
Perhaps the 75MHz FSB is the problem.

It seems very dependent on cache speeds. Since the K6-III has high
speed on chip L2 cache it gets an unusually high mark.

Actually, the problem is the incredibly old motherboard and 72 pin edo ram.
The P55T2P4 was made before there was such a thing as 168 pin DIMMs. 72 pin
edo was top of the line memory. <g> The fact that it runs a K6-III is
amazing, and I'm stoked to be getting so much power out of such an old rig.
Quake 3 and UT both run fairly smooth in 1024x768, with some detail
reduction.

I'm only getting a 41.5 or so on my c366@550. Seems to me that CPUmark
is too sensitive to unrelated things and background tasks cause it went
up after I uninstalled some programs that should really have nothing to
do with benchmarks as they don't *do* anything until called up. But it
*did* reduce the number of DLLs loaded at boot time.

I've got AMD K6-III 450 (not overclocked yet)
on a FIC VA-503+ (1Mb cache)
Result: +/- 51 with NOTHING else running
(if not, it has no sense to compare!)

However, with gameport of my SB PCI128
enabled I get only 15. Suggestions ?

Anybody experience with overclocking K6-III ?

Dimi.

Hehe. K. Just didn't want you to be under the misimpression that that
benchmark was giving you the performance for *duals*.

The whole system seems faster too.

Fascinating. Does it matter what kind of joystick you have it configured
for?

Funny thing is...I don't have it configured for a joystick :)

I kinda figured you'd say that when I asked, hehehe. Seems odd that it
would be tying up CPU resources no matter what.
