I have just installed a CUSL2 in my system, where before there was a
wonderful P3B-F prefectly working, but the new motherboard doesn't
absolutely work: when I enter into the BIOS the machine stops working after
4 o 5 seconds. When I try to make the boot, the hard disk are perfectly seen
by the mobo ( I tried changing all the types of flat cables...) but it stops
before or immediately after the "select your operating system". I have
installed only windows 2000 and on the P3B-F all goes well. The CPU is a
Celeron 633 not overclocked. The RAM is a generic PC100 composed of 3
modules: 128+128+32. I tried removing the disks, the G400MAX, all the
expansions boards (as TV, sound blaster Live with the daughterboard, SCSI
controllers and so on...). When the system blocks I can't do anything and I
must turn off or restart the whole system.
What can it be? The bios ver. is 1001 but I can't update 'cause I
can't boot! Please, help me!
All the config of the P3B should be transferred to the new mobo,
but...I CAN'T!!!
Please, help me!
Andrea

If you have really Bios 1001 not 1001a you have to update the bios,
as Windows 2000 cannot boot with Bios 1001. For the update you
have to use a DOS-boot-diskette.

clear cmos
then reseat everything, incl ram
then update bios if you still have problems
THEN if still no good, it is probably the ram
generic ram is poison to 815 boards much of the time.

The CPU isn't overheating is it, is the heatsink attached properly?

These are my thoughts.

Three SDRam memory modules are no good in this mobo. Remove the 32 MB
module, 256 is more than enough. Geert

Although I agree the 32MB stick could be the problem, the CUSL2 runs
fine with 3 sticks of RAM, I am running 3 128MB sticks of PC133 Cas 2,
no problems.
