Anyone know how to totally disable ACPI on an Asus K7V mobo? I
discovered how to do this on an Asus K7M, by selected fail-safe mode
in the BIOS, it gave you the option of disabling ACPI. ACPI causes
problems in some midi interfaces used for music. Please, any info is
greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....

Sure there is. Once you get windows up and running enter this key. It
turns off ACPI 100%, it's that simple.

****
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Detect]
"ACPIOPTION"=hex:02
****

You can also save all text inside the stars to a text file called
acpidisable.reg (without the above stars), right click and merge to the
registry. That's it ACPI gone.

Good luck,
