Try forcing the drive to UDMA4. Worked for me. UDMA5 was just too
fast.

The CPU fan runs and the temp for my 1G Thunderbird averages 47C. I
decreased the IO voltage a notch and I seem to get another minute or two
before Windows shuts down. I don't think that the CPU heat is my problem.
So it appears that something else in my system is heating up and Windows is
helping me by shutting the system down. My case orients my display card
(and its heat sink) upside down so I'm thinking that I need another fan
blowing across my card to stabilize my system.
