I'm Building a new system using the KG7-RAID.
I'm using 2 x Seagate 60GB 7200rpm in a mirrored configuration. I have a
Ricoh CD/CD-RW/DVD + Iomega 250MB zip drive on IDE-1 (IDE2 disabled).
NVIDIA TNT2 32MB in AGP slot
Linksys Etherfast 10/100 Lan card in PCI 2
Creative Soundblaster Live! Platinum in PCI 3
PhonicPro V.92/V90 PCI modem in PCI 6
I've installed the 5W BIOS and am requesting the V2.3 Highpoint drivers as
part of the install.

Problem is that the XP installation gets as far as the disk partitioning /
assign drive letter screen - this part seems to work OK. However when I let
it go ahead and install XP I get a screen saying :

To install Windows XP in the partition you selected, setup must write some
startup files to the following disk :

Unknown disk

However this disk does not contain a Windows XP-compatible partition.

Any ideas anyone ?

take the zip disk off ide 1 for the install.

also, FYI, bios 5W has shown some instability in a lot of systems but not
all. if things seem real unstable after you get going, consider a flash
back to 5E.

also, you want to forget about the Highpoint 2.3 drivers as they have been
shown to be a step backwards from the 2.0.1019 or 2.0.1203 drivers.
regardless, I carry all of that stuff on my server at the address below.
