i was thinking to set multiplier in
bios to 7 + wire to give me 15, but
it doesn't work..
when i removed the wire, sys booted
normaly..
anyone tried this with success??

after reading John Caracich's
workarounds, have solved all the problems
and i can say that Barton 2500+ can be
used on kg7(r/lite) to the full potential..
first, i have put u-wire to connect fsb1 pin
with vcc (AH30 - AK30), just in case,
after reading about timing problems..
then i have put back the wire to connect 5th
bit with the ground (AH26 - AJ27), but there was
again no post..
the solution was, after reading about multiplier
workarounds and bios driven buffered circuit,
to change the multiplier to 13x or 15x..
now, this cpu is humming rock solid at 16x150 mhz
(2,4 ghz) at default voltage..
bios is ds, multiplier settings in bios is set to
above 13 (set this before puting the wires)..
cheers

it posts without any modifications,
if that's what you ask..
you have access up to 12.5x multiplier,
11x is default..

I'm thinking of exchanging it for a 2400+ and see how that works, or I may just go with the ABIT recommended 2100+. I was originally running a 1600+.

he,
you choose the easiest way..
anyhow, you could run your +2500 barton
at real 2,4 ghz and have 512 kb cache..
