Camera mostly for still life......

Can anyone recommend (thru experiences) a camera of at least 3 mega pixels
that can be used for pictures of still life....aperture adjustable for good
depth of field, like for taking pictures of food dishes?

Not really up to speed on photography - but do *consider* the Canon
Powershot S40. I don't know if it would suit you - but it is 4MP and the
quality is wonderful. Sorry if a bit vague - but it is a great camera.
