Odd place for a cheap memory card...

I was at a Goodwill store earlier today and among the mess of
electronics part and 8-track tapes I found a DVD style case labeled
Dana-Elec 512MB. Upon closer inspection, the SD memory card is indeed
inside and the case is still sealed.

The price? $4.99 plus tax. Usually there's never anything newer in
Electronics than Pentium 1 machines, 14" VGA, and cheap 35mm camera
(why are they in electronics anyway? some don't even have flash) so I
was quite surprised a working and new 512MB card ended up there.

It's quite possible the original buyer got it new but never used it
for some reason, tried to sell it at a garage sale to recover some of
the money and forgot about it when the leftover unsold stuff were
dumped at Goodwill.

Sometimes treasure is found by accident. A few years ago some guy from
Pennsylvania bought a painting at a garage sale because he liked the frame.
He took it to the shop to get it mounted with his own painting under the
crappy original painting was a missing monet worth millions.
