I'm a beginner with a Powershot s110. According to the manual, when
the shutter is pressed halfway down the camera should beep twice, mine
only beeps once, what am I doing wrong, or is this a problem.

I just checked on my 130 and 120. There are certainly two beeps. They
are, however, very close together and it would be easy to think there
was only one beep.

The camera takes great photos, so it must be two beeps. Shame they

didn't use the RoadRunner beep.
