looking for an OCR solution

Is there any free OCR program (enough for printed characters) that can
be used on WinXP? I have tried the OCR plugin in Irfanview, but it could
hardly recognize anything.

What scan software do you use now with your scanner under Windows XP? I
use the scan software that was included with my scanner. Yours didn't
come with software (driver and scan program)? Go to the scanner maker's
web site, and get their own TWAIN driver and scan software for whatever
scanner you have (unidentified here).
