Hello to all,

my new mouse doesn`t works properly. I use Suse 8.1 and had a "normal" mouse
via ps/2 without any problems. Now changed to this optical one - also ps/2
- and it`s very hard to reach your targets. IT "jumps" over pixels sometimes
and sometimes not.

Any suggestions????

Thanx, Roman

I presume you mean problems under X, my mouse a logitch wireless mouse
needs the following;

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Corepointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "off"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

Its a 2 button wheel mouse, dont let the 5 buttons fool you.

I would think that is what you need as well as most cordless mice use
pretty much the same protocol.

Assuming that you are looking how to fix your XF86Config file, look in the
"pointer" section and try changin the "protocol" to "imps2", I had a similar
problem lately.

This is probably too simple, but check your mousepad, or surface that the
mouse facing. Are there patterns or anomolies?

My optical mouse gets 'confused' when it see's a complex pattern and the
pointer jumps and stutters across my screen. Use a plain, single colored
pad, or one made for optical mice, that might help your problem.

KISS principle...
