I got the error message as below:
Cannot create Word Object. Make sure Word is installed and that
ColdFusion has permissions to use the Word COM objects.

I installed the MS word. how do i find out coldfusion has permissions
to use the word com objects? OS is NT 4.
thanks

Silly question, but you did install Word on the server, correct? ( Forgive
me but we've been down this road before. ;^) )

If so then check the "Services" applet (the OS applet, in Administrative
tools) - find CF and see under what account it's running - the default is
"system" which has fewer permissions than you might think. Set CF to run
under a permissioned user and your problems should, with hope, dissappear.

I am still having a problem generating a cf dynamic page to a word document.

What i suspected during my testing process, the server which was installed
CF as a local administrator is working fine w/o any word com object error.

however, the other server which was installed CF as a certain username (this
username group is an administrator and let's call this a testname) under
domain name (devserv) has an word com object error.

CF services on the both server are set to "local system".

what do you mean by "a permissioned user"? so I should set CF to run as
devserv/testname?
