I have to create a table for use by dbase. Easy except I need the Ascii
characters above 126 to appear correct and Delphi is putting other
'Windows'
characters in instead. Any ideas?

P.S. I have the table as ttDBase and the BDE configed to DBase.

1: Have a look at the OEMConvert property. - TEdit, TMemo
2: Have a look at the ANSI???? functions.

Have a look in the BDE Config program at what "language" driver the
DBase driver is using; I suspect you need to change it to one of the
"ASCII" drivers.
