I am putting the correct password into the program, but it still says error
code 1. Does War change the password without me knowing? I'm the only one
that uses this computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, occasionally WarFTP crashes in the middle of the night and then when
I go to restart in the morning it gives me an Error Code 1 and won't
restart the server. If I reboot, it usually does the trick of letting
me in. (Usually)

Today, for some reason I cannot get it to start and keep getting Error
Code 1. I do know what my password is. That is not the problem. It is
as if some-how the password has been changed? I went to find the
FtpDaemon.ini and the FtpDaemon.dat files, and they are now no where to
be found?

I see others are experiencing this problem also. Any ideas for a reason
and a solution???

this is pretty dissapointing. 24 messages in this thread and still no
answer? all i see is one or two people repeating that error code 1
means invalid password over and over again. guys, that's not really
helpful. although i'm not sure, i believe that error code 1 will be
returned for a variety of reasons, only one of them being invalid
password. I too have been experiencing the same problem. I know what
my password is, and in fact, I have it saved to the computer, so i can
just double click the daemon manager and start working on the server.
all of a sudden yesterday, though, it started giving me the error code
1. it's not the password obviously because I know what it is, and its
saved to the computer anyway. I also tried reentering the password,
but that didnt work either. I also know that I didnt disable server
admin access. And another thing, just to rule things out I'm pretty
sure this isnt an issue of operating systems. I've encountered this
problem on both win98 and win2000 (which is what I am currently
running it on). I can't afford the time to rebuild my ftp every time
this happens, so it'd really be nice if someone could voice a helpful
response here....
