Tandberg Streamer and Adaptec 2740 controller

hi,
does any one know what to do, to make the Windows NT- backup software
running with a Tandberg SLR2 streamer connected to a Adaptec 2740
SCSI-controller?
Both, Adaptec's and Streamer's BIOS versions are the latest from Adaptec and
Tandberg.
The software is able to delete the tape contents but trying to write or
formatting a tape leads to an error message like:
"Wrong or unknown SCSI-command"
