100 Hz at desktop, 60 Hz in game why?

Hi, perhaps someone knows, why my monitor makes 100 Hz at Desktop and
when i play my game (americas army), I only get 60 Hz.
My graphik card is an geforce 4 mx460.

Because you need to disable Vsync, or perhaps its a Windows2000/XP matter;
default refreshrate is 60hz. By using NVIDIA refreshrate-fix you can correct
this stupid error.

I don't think that fix will work for your card, but I belive there to be
another "fix" for ATI's chips;

The name of the program is refreshfix.
And no, the program is not in russian although the page is. ;-)

It's been quite a while since I used it since I'm normally a GNU/Linux
fellow , but I had to tweak a
windows machine some time ago when I stumbled across this program.
