Is there a way to identify a Star Logic monitor's actual maker? Seems
Sandra identifies it as a manufacturer xxx- model 1772. Just got it from
OfficeMax- it's a 17" flat screen. Windows generic drivers are good.. but,
WinXP is not showing only the modes this monitor can handle.. it's showing
everything... this monitor can only handle 8 presets (PnP)-- which are only
75 or 85 MHz...I'd like to either get the correct driver (StarLogic/FourStar
have none at their site..) OR not show the modes this monitor cannot
handle..

Also, what's the difference between 1024x768 in 75mhz mode versus 1024x768
in 85mhz mode...24bit is the only option... no 32 bit... Thank you, thank
you...

85mhz is a faster "refresh rate" than 75mhz -- less eye strain, less
flicker; but don't ever choose a higher refresh rate for a given
resolution than a monitor is rated at or you could damage the monitor. 24
bit or 32 bit relate to the color depth or number of colors (2 raised to
the 24th power gives the number of colors at 24bit, etc.) -- which
combined with the screen resolution is determined by how much memory your
video card has.

Thank you! This particular monitor lists both 75 and 85...

Looks like I will keep it at 85...
