Hi guys,
Just built my new system around the MSI K7 Master Ltd Edition (no raid) mainboard & AMD TB 1.33 GHz CPU. Hmonitor is shows that my CPU is @ 58 Degree Celcius with no load & up to 60 Degree Celcius when running games. Is this normal or is it too hot. I'm using a Taisol HSF with non-copper shim.

The maximum spec die temperature for your CPU is 95C. If your MB has a
built-in thermocouple, I'd guess that it's mounted beneath the CPU. So to
get the die temperature, you'd have to add a factor to the measured
temperature. I'm not sure what that factor is for your setup, but I'd bet
it's much less than 35C. So, you're probably all right.

The K7 Master tends to report temperatures that are higher than most other
boards, so 60C shouldn't be a problem.

I have one, and it used to get up to 67C with Prime95 running in the
background. This was with an ambient temp of about 22-23C. I've since
dropped it to 55-56C, by 1) getting a bigger fan for the heatsink; and 2)
dropping the core voltage from default to 1.675. For some reason this board
runs the Vcore at about 0.7v higher than nominal.

My K7T Turbo RAID, TB1400/266 and Coolermaster (>1.4Ghz) measures 72 (no
load) and up to 85 (load), case-temp is 30 (according to the measurement)...
according to my supplier the board measurements are not right and the whole
thing isn't getting too hot....

any opinions?

my opinion :
toooooooooo hot !!!
check the cooler is installed properly and use a good thermal paste (not too
much of it). i use the subzeropaste.
is there enough airflow in the case ?
i have one blowing in and two blowing out (+powersuply)

What sort of Coolermaster? IIRC they're not the best heatsinks around. Are
you experiencing lockups?

About 25c too high @ stress.

Which Coolermaster
Did you use ASII or the thermal pad
How are you measuring temp
What does your BIOS temp give after 1 min
???
