Recommendations for 17-18" LCD flat panel monitor...

I am all set now to build my own system with the exception of the
monitor.

I am looking for a good quality 17-18" LCD flat panel so that I can
use the native 1280x1024 resolution without straining.

By good quality I mean some combination of brightness/contrast,
refresh speed, viewing angle, reliability, and design.

I would like to spend in the $500-800 range if possible.

Any suggestions/experiences?
Any good URLs for reviews?
