Hi folks-
Problem you all might be able to help with. My GW had a virus attack
that I dealt with and somehow, in the process deleted a file called
"rjvsd.exe". I can't run any applications with out this file, I keep
getting a dialouge screen saying that the file can
not be found. I went into the file association screen and found under
the list of registered file types "Applications" that calls for this
file. I can't find the damn file anywhere, nor can I edit the
association under file types. I think this can be dealt with using
regedit, but don't know how to start. Any help would be appreciated
very much.

Explore Msinfo32.exe and regedit.exe using search facility to try to
determine the purpose of this application

I had the same problem recently after a virus attack,
backdoor.subseven.21, I believe it was. It also associated applications
with a nonsense named exe file. I went into the registry and did a search
for the nonsense file and deleted every reference to it and got back
control of my system. This was all done after a cleanup with Norton
Anti-virus. The reason you can't find the file is that your anti-virus
program probably deleted it. That's what happened in my case.
