Is there a program that will let me do this on the already recorded DVD?
Or will I have to re-record onto another dvd? If so, what do you guys
suggest in the way of freeware?
Many thanks,
scoot
What format is the "one long movie"?

There is no ACF FAQ.
M.L., this link got me to looking at all the offerings there. That stuff
looks pretty good. Are there any catches like dotnet or the like to
their stuff that you're aware of?

John Corliss BS206. I use nFilter to block all Google Groups posts
because of Googlespam. No ad, cd, commercial, cripple, demo, dotnet,
nag, share, spy, time-limited, trial or web wares OR warez for me, please.
Well, okay. Whatever. I *do* consider it an issue though (see below.)
Also, please note that I was asking for *any* issues that you might be
aware of, not just dotnet. For instance, nagscreens, time limits,
calling home, etc.

Yesterday, I tried their "Free DVD Burner" program:
http://www.minidvdsoft.com/dvdburner/
on my friend's computer. When I discovered that you have to add folders
one at a time (I looked but was unable to discover a way to add multiple
folders at once) to a list you want to burn to a data disc, I removed
the program and went with Ashampoo Burning Studio Free. My friend
already had dotnet installed on his system, so it worked for him.
I have the $ware Nero on my computer, so I don't need a burner program.
Was trying to find something that would work on my friend's computer and
nothing would. It turned out in the end that the problem was that his
burner couldn't use blank Maxell DVD-R discs. When I popped a blank TDK
in it though, Ashampoo worked fine.
As for dotnet, the reason I dont' like it is that it's a huge wad of
files that slows down defragging, malware scans and Scandisk. IME it
slowing down the amount of time it took me to boot. This was not
imagined either, as I timed it both before and after I removed all of
dotnet (yes, I actually did have it installed at one point.) Currently,
I've seen absolutely nothing that compels me to install the crap.
Eventually this may change but I'm going to put off having it on my
system as long as I can.
Mpeg2 - that's what DVD's are made in.
Thank you all for your responses.

Well and good, however the OP wrote; "...been put onto DVD, but just as one
long movie...".

I gave it a try. It's useable but there's some minor irritants, the worst
of them being that when it came time to burn it wouldn't recognise the
burner, despite having done it earlier in the process. It's not ready to
replace ConvertX but could be after a couple of minor bug fixes.
Thanks for that review, alvey!
DVD Flick might work for you:
Not sure if you can name the chapters, but it will break a video up into
chapters according to their guide:
http://www.dvdflick.net/guide/index_en.html
I have used this program three or four times. It works very well and
isn't all that hard to figure out.

Same here. This is a killer for me. Imagine making a data DVD where you
are adding folders one by one. Yikes!
And I noticed it just uses the Starburn dll anyway.

And that Koyote stuff is adware that plants quite a bit of junk on your
system. It lasted about 30 seconds here before I deleted it.
Don't waste your time with it.

Fair enough, but I just wish they would be open about its status as
adware.
